WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF STEEL DOORS
A steel door is a door with a frame and a door panel made of sheet steel, often filled with insulation. They are known for their high durability and are primarily used as security, fire, industrial, or storage doors.

SECURITY DOORS
Essentially, steel security doors are reinforced fire doors. However, the requirements, classifications, and design needs naturally differ. But the job these doors are meant to do is the same. When closed, they must protect both people and valuable property.
First and foremost, we do not offer standard products, even though we do offer a classic apartment door in the RC3 class. Our strength lies in custom-designed products that place high demands on both functionality and security, as well as on us as a supplier.
Momec has, among other things, been commissioned to manufacture high-security doors for the correctional system—which, for security reasons, we cannot show in pictures—and we view security doors as a growth area for us. HIGH PERFORMANCE FOR EVERYDAY SECURITY
Every steel door we manufacture at Momec serves a purpose that goes beyond simply closing and locking. This may involve stopping a fire, preventing a break-in, or blocking out disruptive noise, toxic gases, or simply unwanted odors. In practice, this means that our custom-designed security doors are fire-rated, burglar-resistant, and sound- or gas-tight, tailored to the specific needs of each customer. For over 60 years, Momec has been manufacturing secure steel doors for use in marine environments. This experience is of great benefit to both us and our customers when we build security doors for prisons, rental or condominium properties, industrial facilities, or public spaces. Requirements, classifications, and design needs vary from one environment to another, but the security function the door is intended to fulfill remains fundamentally the same. As social conditions have become more challenging in many cases, the need for rated security doors is increasing. This is an issue that is currently being highlighted and prioritized by politicians, government agencies, and private developers alike.
BURGLARY-RESISTANT DOORS
The standard for defining protection against burglary is based on how long a security-rated door can withstand an attack, given a specific level of force and type of tool. Our security doors meet the requirements for classes RC3 and RC4 according to SS-EN 1627.
FIRE-RATED AND SMOKE-/GAS-TIGHT DOORS
By law, security doors for buildings must be fire-rated and thus provide protection against fire for at least thirty minutes. This applies to doors in both new condominium and rental properties as well as doors being replaced in existing buildings. There are also requirements that installation be carried out in accordance with the law, and it is worth noting that ultimate responsibility lies with property owners and condominium associations. Contrary to what one might think, it is often smoke—not flames—that is the most common cause of death in a fire. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance that the door also protects against toxic smoke and gas.
SOUND-INSULATED DOORS
Some sounds are so loud that they are harmful. In such cases, it goes without saying that measures must be taken. But there are also sounds that are simply disruptive when you’re trying to sleep, rest, work, study, or just spend time at home. Perhaps they come from the stairwell, which, in the worst case, can lead to strained relationships with neighbors. It’s worth keeping in mind that many of these noises can be eliminated with a custom-designed apartment door. There are several levels of sound reduction; describe your needs to us, and we’ll tailor the insulation to meet them.

Momec currently offers a limited number of steel and security doors for properties in rural areas, but we view this as a priority business area with great potential. Since we will be part of the Weland Group starting in 2021, we will have greater opportunities and resources to grow and develop. We already have our own experienced development department, which means we can help our customers with custom-manufactured security doors with short lead times.
